5 weeks of Torture...the adventure begins

Started my training routine for the Triathlon yesterday.

The plan is to wake up at 4:30 each morning. I'll take Zoey for her customary walk and then weather permitting
EITHER
Bike to work, run at least 3 miles at lunch, bike home, then run 2 miles.
OR
Run before work, swim at lunch, and run 2 miles after work

So summary for DAY 1??
9 M bike ride to work
3.2 M run at lunch
9 M bike ride home
2 M run

Not bad for the first day! The weather was amazing today, run at lunch was a bit toasty, but with zero humidity anything would feel good. I'd say it was a successful day overall.

Only low points of today? I hit a HUGE pothole on Kessler on the way home. A hit that was felt by not only my bike, but also my body. Decision made: the road isn't any smoother than the constant up and down of the crack riden, uneven sidewalk.

Summary DAY 2
9 M bike ride to work
no run at lunch :( ...work got in the way
9 M bike ride home
2 M run to the bank and back

The weather was AMAZING today!! Got up a bit late but still was able to get rolling in time, but boy was it cold. Say what??? Yeah the temperature this morning was 65 degrees. But man was it lovely.

Until...I got about 2 miles from home and realized my back tire was waaaay low. I panicked about it the whole ride to work, plummeting my average speed and upping my ride time by about 25 minutes. Luckily there was a morning ride for the employees this morning so the bike rack was fully stocked and lots of folks had bike pumps on hand, so I got 'er aired up and the ride home was muuuch faster. Thanks Steve for the air!

As far as times go...Looks like my 2 mile run is holding at about 19minutes....but at least i'm not dropping dead right? Well Google maps estimates 38 minutes to walk that far, so I'm at least going twice as fast as walking! woo hoo
